What are my chances of being an Emory Scholar?

noobcake,

I think your chances of being named a "semi-finalist" for ESP are very good, and I think you are very solid for potential "finalist" designee. Here are some quick thoughts:

It's difficult to truly assess your chances, but you appear to put up general strengths in academic numbers, e.g., GPA and standardized test scores. Your 10 AP classes thus far demonstrate rigor in your academic courseload; however, the scores of 1, 2 and 3 do not help you in your AP tests. (At Emory, academic credit is given only for those AP classes in which you score either a 4 or 5.) If you are taking 7 AP classes as a senior, I can only say that it is truly ambitious -- I hope you have time to enjoy some of your senior year! ;-)

Your EC's and leadership experience are not manifested by what you've offered, and do not appear to complement your otherwise stellar academic record.
