Emory Scholar Finalists- guaranteed $$??

Does anyone know if you're an Emory Scholar Finalist and attend the Finalist weekend, are you guaranteed at least a 2/3 tuition scholarship, if you don't get full tuition or full ride? Or could you come away with nothing?

Guaranteed at least full tuition unless you do something really stupid at the interviews.

it's not always full tuition. It's 2/3 tuition to full ride.

i'm a current emory scholar and giants is right...those invited automatically get full tuition. They attend the weekend to compete for the full rides.

On Emory's website, it states that the awards for Emory finalists range from 2/3 tuition to full tuition.

econ, have you decided if you are staying or transferring?

I'd like to ask you about how you are viewing "Stay versus Go." I would assume that as an ES, you would get lots of attention from professors, have some sense of community, and be well supported in your academic ambitions, in addition to the $$$$. I noticed 3 out of 4 of the Bobby Jones winners this year were ESes - such awards make very nice grad/prof school jewels in your crown. If you go to an Ivy, you would just be one of the crowd (the brilliant 50% that are not "other-than-academic-merit-admits") competing to be in the top 20% to achieve that same bouncy springboard to future glory. Seems to me you could get the same, or better result, with less nail-biting, right where you are.

(But what do I know? I went to five different colleges in 7.5 years - long story). If you are willing, please share the factors on which you will base your decision.

Econrobot- could you tell us what is it you don't like about Emory? thanks
