<p>I am confused about the Emory Scholars program. I'm applying ED to Emory, and I still have to fill out an emory scholars app and submit it by Nov 15? am i required to apply? what if i don't want to? how do i know if i'm nominated by my school? I asked all GCs and they know nothing about emory scholars, and my guidance office received nothing about emory scholars</p>

<p>1) you are not required to apply
2) if you did apply, your app would have to be in, with the nomination, by same deadline as ED
3) if your GC’s know nothing about it, they will have to step on it if you want to be nominated</p>
<p>4) why your GC’s received nothing about it would be a question to ask the fine, organized people down in Atlanta…not the first time this has happened; it seems that unless student(S) from your HS have applied to Emory in previous years in large numbers, GC’s don’t seem to know about scholars unless students who are applying tell them…</p>
<p>So many questions so little time. Honestly, we should be able to ask our GCs about this kind of information. I guess 15k a year only can buy a 1st year GC that has never written a reccomendation before and dosen’t know what UVA is… Who thought?</p>
<p>By the way, GET TO WORK ON YOUR ESSAYS, your running low on time. We got Thursday and Friday off. I’m planning on having my Gtown/UNC app in by the end of this weekend and hopefully having the time to do one more school on the common app.</p>
<p>Reading Rodney’s response, Rodney your overestimating our guidence system. Lets just say our school is a massive mercy case. They fire and hire GCs without our knowledge and bring in GCs who have never written apps (or that I’ve ever even met) to write our reccomendations. I doubt my GC has ever even heard of Emory, and I’m not kidding.</p>
<p>Rodney, thanks for the response. Do you think I should even bother applying to Emory Scholars? I am on lower end of GPA and test scores and I read online that average GPA was 3.9 and average score was 34/2250.</p>
<p>Yeah I think my GC’s never got the application, in the past 5 years, I think 20 kids have applied to Emory, and none of them were early decision.</p>
