I am currently a UGA sophomore for the fall and would like to apply to Emory. It was my first choice school, and I didn't apply my senior year because of the cost, but now I only want to apply to see if I can get in. If I do and the financial aid allows it, I will likely transfer. I have 3 semesters of credits due to 19 of them from AP and now I don't know if I should apply my spring semester or fall. My GPA as of now is 3.52 so if I transfer in the spring, will my GPA for the courses in progress be counted? I want to wait until next fall so I can bring my grades up but then I fear that I will have too many credits. If anyone can offer any advise, I'd really appreciate it. Please and thank you.

Emory College admits transfers either semester, and transferred academic credit is limited to a maximum of sixty-four hours. You can have more credits, but that is all you can transfer.

Since you will have to meet all of Emory’s general education and departmental major requirements, carefully plan which of your existing credits you want to transfer.

Good luck.
