our school only allows us 1 AP during our sophomore year and i couldn’t take it due to my time schedule because our school only has 4 periods each semester…

Not sure if you’re suffering from an extremely warped self image.I assume you are a rising sophomore/junior? A 3.9 GPA isn’t perfect, but still viable for top schools. First off, it’s too early to start thinking about rec letters. Kids usually get rec letters from junior and senior teachers. Forge good relationships with them and then go from there. Also, when the time comes, I wouldn’t mention the thing about your sister in your college essays unless it really impacted you. Remember that the college essay is about you! Not your sister. Although I am very sorry about the situation with your sister, I just put a little suggestion. If you want to, go ahead. Right now, your ECs are great. Do you have an intended major in mind?

In the end, you are by no means a lost cause. There are people with GPAs a lot lower than yours that still get into college (yes, imperfect people get to go to college too.), so if you really want to aim high, keep up the good work!

thx. sorry… im a senior this year.

@harrisonwe98 Do you have safety schools in mind? Matches? Try Cornell, you’ll never know what will happen. However, I do recommend you bump up your ACT a little for the school.

As an Asian applicant Cornell, WashU and Vandy are going to be reaches with your current ACT score. Make sure you identify real safety and match schools.

Agreed. I think you’ll get into Tulane and maybe Emory but probably not at Cornell, Wash U, and Vandy unless you get your act to a 32.

Also add match schools. Tulane is your only real match.
