Emory vs. Boston University?

Interested in journalism. Which has a better program? & Which overall experience is better?

Emory!!! Best undergrad school in the U.S., I think. But I’m a tad biased.

Journalism at emory? huh?

Yes. Emory does have a journalism co-major.

yea their journalism is very good

Emory’s journalism program is very small, around 60 people. Don’t count on getting in, they only accept around 15 students a semester. And it’s not really “very good”, as it has just recently been restarted. But once you’re in, they take care of you.

emory is a great school to be in but it only has a major in journalism whereas bu has a whole college of communications, it is also a much larger program that my brother (who is going to college for journalism) says is more prestigious than emory’s, or any school that only has a journalism major for that matter

Idk I’m going by my sisters friend who went there she got a lot out of it and got a nice job with CNN

Granted, of course some people will get a lot out of it, but it’s a very small program and getting into it is not guaranteed. If someone wants to 100% go into journalism, I’d say going to BU would be a better option, as they have an entire school for communications.

Though I transferred out of BU, I was premed and Emory was the right decision for me. In terms of journalism, BU’s program is amazing!

The cost for BU is outrageous, considering the cost of schools similar to it. If you plan on going to BU, why not use that money to go to a much better undergrad school, like Emory?
