Okay, so here's my dilemma. I'm trying to find out if it's worth it to go to a private school (Boston University) or to jsut go to UGA... As you guys know a private school costs a lot more than a public school usually, but I really feel like I'd be more comfortable at BU. Despite this my parents feel it isn't worth it and that I should just go to UGA because it costs less... What are you guys' thoughts on the matter?

Oh and I'll be double majoring in Journalism and Graphic Design.

As a UGA grad and father of senior HS grad about to choose his college, I would recommend you go to UGA. Journalism grads do not command the salaries / job opps of Business / Science / Engineering majors. It will take you a long time to get the economic return from four years at BU vs. low cost of UGA.

Sound like you want to work for a magazine / e-zine. Good Luck

I would pick UGA in this case as well. BU is considered a second tier school in Boston area. BU is good school, but it is overshadowed by so many great schools around in MA (Harvard, MIT, BC, Brandeis, Tufts, etc). The only good schools that better than UGA in Georgia are Tech and Emory U.

Come to UGA. We’ve got a great journalism program in the Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and you will have WAY more fun at UGA than you ever could imagine at BU.
