Why does ever "Vs" thread on this board denegrade into another gunfight between Duke and Cornell? There is not a single one of these wars on the Duke board. Cornell is NOT more prestigious than Duke, nor is Duke significantly more prestigious than Cornell. Just do your best at either and it will be fine.

Jeez!

Dukedemon, I hate to use ad hominem attacks, and I have nothing to do with Cornell, Emory, or Duke, which are all very fine schools, but it seems to me that you live a very shallow, empty, sad existence.

NyHunter, Emory and Cornell have some key differences in location, local culture, rural vs urban setting, and size to a certain degree. Consider these things and then make your decision.

"Dukedemon, I hate to use ad hominem attacks, and I have nothing to do with Cornell, Emory, or Duke, which are all very fine schools, but it seems to me that you live a very shallow, empty, sad existence."

That was very rude considering as how this thread is sodden with such people.

Ahh. . .I've had it with the Cornell Vs. Duke thing!

STOP THE VIOLENCE!

lol. . . .

Just to clear things up:

When deciding between Cornell and Duke, you cannot go wrong with either one.

Why discount Cornell because of it's land grant colleges? There are simply additional schools on campus that receive NYS funds.

Ithaca is a bustling college town, and Cornell's campus is a city upon itself, full of campus events, great food, and anything you could ever want. Um. . .where does boring fit in?

It would be absolutely foolish to base your decision on US News rankings. They change from one year to the next, does that mean a college got better or worse from the previous year. . . .I think not.

Amen.

Cringing waiting for dukedemons comments...

this kid is a mornon, he has to be on the cornell board ot make himself feel better about duke, this is ridiculous, what is he doing here anyway, its like rich p eople don't talk about their money because they know they have it, this kid has to flaunt duke cuz he is insecure, secondly, emory and cornell are not nearly int he same caliber..tons of kids at cornell got into emory, definitely not the other way around, and i know five kids just in my fraternity that ttransferred from emory to cornell because they wanted better academic reps, they are not nearly in the same league....this is dumb and we shouldnt even respoind to this morons post. Emory carries no weight ....period in the northeast when it comes to jobs and internships..this kid is an idiot...

i got into Emory 10 days off the waitlist (i was kinda overqualified for RD)...no brainer...when i told the lady i was going to Cornell, she was like let me take one second to congratulate on that....wat a great school she said...coming from an admissions lady at emory who i just turned down....

Cornell is close to Duke on the alphabetical list of college forums. Is that why so many Duke people troll errr...accidentally stumble upon this board?

dukedemon, did you actually post this on the Duke board?

"Some people are bashing Duke on the Cornell board, check out the thread:Emory VS Cornell. Need some backup!"

That's about as loser-ish as you can get. No wonder so many Duke people have followed like sheep to the Cornell board.

For those of you who think Cornell students are pretentious and defensive, read some of the comments about Cornell on the Duke board. The only difference is Cornell students don't go to the Duke board to troll.

Now that is quality proof of why Duke students are so much better than Cornell idiots.

"Now that is quality proof of why Duke students are so much better than Cornell idiots.'

Ah yes! And that is also considering that one person is indicative of a whole student body! My, how wonderfully blanket.

ok, i agree on that, i take it back

It's ok. I like you and Cornell IS better than Emory. I am sure that is quite apparent. It is better than most schools.

"i got into Emory 10 days off the waitlist (i was kinda overqualified for RD)...no brainer...when i told the lady i was going to Cornell, she was like let me take one second to congratulate on that....wat a great school she said...coming from an admissions lady at emory who i just turned down...."

you have got to be kidding me collegekid. since when are you overqualified??? if you were so "great" than i would expect to see you at stanford next year but no i wont.ohhhhhh please!! cornell is not that much better than emory and i wouldnt be surprised if someone picked emory over cornell. grow up and realize you arent all that. you really are the problem with these boards because you are a prestige whore.Too bad you suddenly figured out that duke wasnt better than cornell but more its equal. even in new york, duke is more prestigious. poor kid. you made the wrong prestige choice and now your bitter over it. do us all a favor and lick your wounds somewhere else.

omg i hate this thread very much. lets all curse each other out...

that sounds like a plan --> I hate you sparticus, my college confidential name is so much better than yours, last year it was ranked 4th
