Emory vs. Michigan

I am completely stuck between Emory and the University of Michigan. They're completely different universities, and I've come up with a multitude of pluses and minuses for both.
One thing I have heard about Emory (which I couldn't really tell from my visit the past two days) is that it the people are very pretentious and the girls really aren't too friendly? How true is that, and what reasons would you give for Emory over Michigan, or visa versa?

Emory: + better learning environment, overall education, weather, facilities

Michigan: + sports, certain departments are very strong, social life

I guess what I'm most concerned about with Emory is if the "unfriendly" thing stands true. I'm from a small, jappy community in the Northeast, but I really don't like all the snobbiness and constant gossip and I kinda wanna get away from that.
Is there still more than ample opportunity to find chill, down-to-earth people, and also attractive but NOT jappy girls at Emory, or will i have to really dig down deep to find this?
I just want to be able to have an amazing experience at college without having the majority of campus the way my high school was; I'm not saying I want the entire place to be friends, but I'm just wondering how well the people mix.

I wondered the same thing. Here's my post:

For what it's worth, I'll be attending this fall and I am not "jappy" so feel free to holla at me.

i have the same decision to make but i just visited Emory and found that most students i met there were friendly it did look very jappy

i dont think thats true
every colleges have some kinda rumors anyway

Elizabeth--I've spoken to a few more people, who said it really isn't as bad as some make it; you just have to avoid certain types of people. Plus, they said people change for the good, which is definitely a plus. I'm most likely gonna attend in the fall, so if you wanna talk, my sn is the same as my ID here.
