Emory vs NYU vs BC

Hello! I am a current high school senior trying to choose between these three schools for Pre-med. I plan on double majoring in Neuroscience or Biology and Psychology

I am wondering which of these schools is the best for pre-med in terms of quality of education, resources, and opportunities.

NYU is offering me a 45k scholarship and admission into their Presidential Honor Scholars program for CAS. (71k COA)

Emory is offering me a 47k scholarship. (64k COA)

Boston College is offering me a 50k scholarship and admission into the Honors Program of CAS. (65k COA)

Money is an issue however I am willing to take out some loans to attend college. My parents and I can probably put up around 10-12k maximum and I will cover the rest with loans/work-study.

I know there are differences in their campus style and social vibe etc but that matters much less to me than the standard of education and resources available.

Thank you for your help and replies!

From a pre Med perspective and as far as a value proposition, Emory is the best bet. Also better weather and a top tier Medical Campus.

I disagree, I’d have to go with BC. After visiting admitted eagle day, and listening to their pre med presentation, the faculty’s genuine and strong support for its students reflects the 86% med school placement rate. Also, you really can’t beat Boston’s opportunities with regards to hospitals and medical opportunities available (Mass General, Tufts Medical, etc). I wouldn’t miss out on this opportunity.

All are strong academic institutions. The most important consideration, other than financial, is personal fit. The environment s of these three universities are enterly different. BC is a jesuit university in an affluent suburb outside of Boston (new england), emory is in Atlanta (the South) and NYU is in a dynamic area of The City (NYC). Ask yourself in which environment will I thrive. Remember you need excellent grades to attend a respectable US med school.

Thank you for the replies! Does anyone know how high the quality of instruction in terms of lectures and labs is at NYU or BC?

In addition, how renowned is NYU’s undergraduate Neuroscience department?

I’m leaning away from BC because they do not offer a neuroscience major.

ok

Well for one thing, at NYU it’s not neuroscience, it’s neural science. But the program here is excellent, with great research opportunities
