Emory, Wash.U, Virginia, Michigan, and others

Thanks for taking the time to look at this! I'll try to help with any questions you have. I'll give you the short version here.

This is my list of schools so far:
Emory
Virginia
Michigan
Middlebury
Wash.U (legacy)

I will definitely be applying to one early decision, but I haven't chosen yet. I am a white, Jewish female from the Mid-Atlantic region.

SAT:
reading- 700
math- 670
writing- 730

ACT: 31 (composite)
reading- 35
math- 29
science- 28
writing- 31

APs:
English lit- 4
English lang- 4

GPA: around 3.8, although my school does not calculate GPA. We do not have AP classes either, but I take many advanced courses.

In school activities:
student council secretary (12th)
school newspaper- section editor (10-12th)
varsity tennis (9-12th)
grade fundraising committee (9-12th)

out of school activities:
Hebrew school (9-12th)
tennis lessons (9-12th)
Religious youth group chapter VP (11-12th)
piano lessons (9-12th)

summer activities (all 3 years)
-Trip to concentration camps in Poland and a month in Israel
-Counselor's Assistant at a sleepaway camp
-Columbia University Journalism workshop - won an award
-tennis clinics

My essay is about my trip to Poland and how seeing the destruction of a Jewish community affected my view of my role in the Jewish community today.

Thanks for any insight you may have!

If you can, try ED-ing WashU. A person in my school has similar stats and he got in without legacy.

You’re a fairly strong applicant. Your extracurriculars are decent and your GPA is good but your test scores only put you in the 30th percentile at WashU.

Unfortunately, your SAT/ACT and AP scores sort of contradict each other.
