does anyone know what EMPLID is? It suddenly came up on my application website.
I got the same thing on my application. I did a few quick searches and it seems to be a form of ID (which makes sense since it has ID at the end). Most schools use them to help verify students for things like checking apps, changing applications once they are submitted, and even enrolling in classes. I saw one website from Emory that said you need this ID to register for classes. Once again this is just a guess from what I have read, but it would make sense. Good luck though!
So for the most part @EconomicsNerd is right. It’s just an ID number that doesn’t have too much impact in the college application stage. When I was an applicant I usually added it to my communications with the office of admissions and office of financial aid as a courtesy so they could find my information quicker. It becomes more important when you become a student. Since it’s your student ID number, you use it for picking up packages at the mail center, a lot of student orgs ask for it when you apply, and you may use it as a way to clock into FWS jobs, well at least mines. You don’t need it to register for classes because that’s all done through your OPUS portal.
