<p>Graduating seniors have always been encouraged to donate money to UF, but in 1995, the Senior Class Gift was created as an official campaign to recruit donors. The campaign was renamed Senior Legacy in 2007, Keyes said.</p>
<p>"Imagine a UF without a Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, an O'Connell Center, a Reitz Union," said Melissa Tyrone, an associate director of the fund. "Students at UF enjoy a great many things that are made possible by our alumni and friends' contributions."</p>
<p>Senior Legacy, a developing Florida Fund program, was created to inspire students to give back to the university in support of student programming and resources for future Gators, Tyrone said.</p>
<p>Gifts are typically between $20 and $25, but Tyrone said larger donations of $100 and $250 are received. In 2007, 86 gifts were received that totaled $2,661.</p>
