Hey whats up?
new to this, great forum
im a junior, and i have some colleges in mind, but, frankly, due to it still being early in my junior year, im still pretty uninformed
i kinda want to apply to these colleges, but i would like some feedback on what you guys know about them

Harvard (what the hell, might as well try)
Princeton (^^^^^^^^^^)
Yale
NYU
UC Berkeley
U Mich Ann Arbor
UT Austin
Brown University

and others im not sure of. any suggestions?

I'm not sure what sorts of information about these colleges you are looking for, but there are tons of info about all of them here on CC and in the various college guidebooks.

One thing I notice right away about your list, however, is that it is very top heavy. All these schools are either selective or very selective or hyper-selective. You need to come up with some safety schools.

i think UT Austin is my safety school, cause i get good grades and i live in texas, but i guess ur right
any suggestions?

holy -- UT is a safety school for you if you're in the top 10% of your class, although that doesn't guarantee you admittance to a particular program within UT.

Michigan State University
University of Michigan- Ann Arbor
University of Wisconsin- Madison
University of Minnesota- Twin Cities
Ohio State University- Columbus
Pennslyvania State University- University Park

As a junior, start trying to decide what you want in a college: location, size, and "type" will all help you make a more accurate list. For example, do you want a small LAC in a rural community, or a large university right in the middle of a city? Then, everyone here'd be happy to give you suggestions of "any schools you might've missed."

FOr me, it doesn't matter whether its a big city or not. I'm pretty confident that im in the top 10%, however, i am waiting on my semester grades and GPA from the registrar. Location really doesn't matter. i know that sounds too aloof, but thats how i see it. I am trying to pursue a law/business/legal career, so my major may be history, psychology, social sciences, political sciences or language. being new to the U.S. and not knowing much about the universities, i just picked ones i heard most people talk about. I guess some better safety schoosl would be good, but i would like to broaden my range from just IVey and top state universities

@coolbreeze. Are those universities u recommend or safeties?
