I want to enroll in this course but it has a class listed under enforced requisites. Does this mean I can't enroll whatsoever? Are there ways to go around it possibly?

thank you!

You can ask the professor for a Permission To Enroll (PTE) number, which allows you to enroll as you would on URSA. With a PTE number, you enter it during class enrollment when it says you haven’t fulfilled some requisites.

Some departments require you to get permission from the undergraduate office (outside the powers of the professor).

thanks a lot! should I ask him for a PTE number or just explain the circumstance? I have the professor for summer so it will be easy to communicate with her. The class I’m trying to enroll in is in the Fall btw.

I think it would be enough to say in one sentence that you can’t enroll in the course, and would like a PTE number. If you’re asking your professor in person, then see where the conversation goes and you can explain in more detail why you can’t get in, and why you want to take the class. If you’re asking through an email, then provide a little more detail about why you want the class and why you should be allowed to enroll even though you haven’t fulfilled the requirements. Unless professors know you, I think they would like to hear a good reason why you should be allowed to skip the requisites. Some professors/departments may be more lenient on enrollment.

Thanks phos. For some reason though, I tried to add the class for fun and it enrolled me in. Weird right? Should everything be okay though? thanks
