I was just wondering if anyone could help/ convince me which school is better. For now, I am going into Electrical Engineering (not 100% sure if ill switch majors or not). Some factors that i am looking at are school prestige, best value, atmosphere, surrounding city, extracurriculars, sport teams, etc.

Thanks!

To be quite honest, I don’t think it really matters when you get the quality of schools you are showing here. Purdue is a slightly worse school, but honestly, when the rankings get this good/close, visit each school and choose the one you get that “vibe” at and like the most. So prestige is pretty equal, value: Michigan is kind of expensive OOS, UIUC is a little less expensive, Purdue is a little less, GT is a little less, R-H is about the same as GT.

Atmosphere - probably cancels out Rose-Hulman. All the other 4 are probably tied (again, you need to see for yourself what you like the best)
Town - Atlanta is a city, the other 4 are college towns I believe (is Ann Arbor a city or a college town?).
EC - ???
Sport Teams - All but R-H have D1 sports.

thanks alot, yeah that’s what im planning.
the only reason rose-hulman is on the list is because small schools typically have better learning experiences, but does this really over-weigh the other factors?
oh and with my scholarship to R-H, id have to pay 16K/yr.

and between Illinois and GT, which do you think is better?

I’m a Jr, probably will visit both of them this summer/fall, so I can’t give you a true answer. Right now after looking at their sites, I’m leaning towards GT, but again, I want to visit both.
