Engineer transfer

I’m currently on my second semester on my local community college doing general studies but I’m taking courses for mechanical engineering(my college does not have a program for it). I attained a 4.0 gpa last semester but I withdrew from a class due to some reasons. Furthermore, it is looking pretty solid this semester though as I can see myself getting 3 A’s and 1 B(i’m among the top of the class but the subject is not my forte). However, I will be done this summer due to my college not having the courses necessary to attend the two years. So, I was wondering, is it possible to attend my preferred university which is Texas A&M as an engineer major? Or what other universities should I consider that are in Texas where can enter as a mechanical engineer major and excel in the engineering department.

Btw: I’m sort of embarrassed to say this but during high school I did not care enough and I ended up having a 1.7 or so GPA with SAT score of 1360 and ACT 19 :(( but I clearly switched my ways in college and started doing better than ever!!

You need to have a meeting with the Transfer Advisor at your CC. That person is the expert on transferring from your CC to other places. Ask specifically about transfer agreements that your CC has with different colleges and universities for your major.

Also make sure to find out whether those schools will consider your high school record if you apply for transfer now as opposed to a year from now. You want to base your admission as much as possible on your Community College record alone.
