Engineering Admission Chances

If it werent for a slightly low math SAT score (compared to Mcormik applicants) i wouldnt waste you alls time with another one of these

SAT 1 Math 740 CR 730 Writing 670
SAT II math2 720 Chemistry 770
AP Euro 5, AP Chemistry 5, Econ/gov/, B/C calculus senior year
Completed PLTW pre-engineering curriculm (4 pre eng classes)
ECs (do they even care for engineering?)
2 weeks materials science and Engineering research at Clemson university (my desired major)
4 years lettering as varsity polevaulter
Huge amount of church/ youth group leadership stuff im not gonna bore you with.

I know i have a decent shot to get in but is it a good enough shot to justify thinking im more likely to get in than rejected?

As someone who was admitted Class 2010 into McCormick, and having lower SATs than you (700 Math 610 CR 570 Writing), I wouldn't sweat the scores. ECs, believe it or not, do count for all of NU's schools. The Clemson program will help, as will the curriculum, as it shows interest. Write great essays and do an interview if possible, and I think you'll have a good shot.

Oh. and Go Mat Sci. :) I'm a possible Mat Sci also.

Sweet thanks for the reply, seeing all the 800/800/800 on here was making me nervous

Sure! If you want to talk about admission stuff, feel free to message me and I'll help any way I can.

How much would an interview help me out? I would definately wanna visit the campus but i hear they dont interview on campus or something goofy like that ?

Well.. after seeing how people with a lot higher scores than me got rejected, and I was only semi-confident in my essays, but I had an AMAZING interview. My interview was through my local Alumni Association, and they had me interview with an Alumni, who's son was in McCormick. I suppose it depends on where you are in the country, but you can always email admissions and ask if they know.

ask if they know

I hope they would lol, ill have to check into that because i dont wanna get rejected because i didnt interview even though i think i would suck at interviewing

An interview is considered, but is not important: Common Data Set
If you don't want to do an interview, and you're convinced you'd suck at it, then don't do one. It's still a good idea to let them know you're very interested. They track contact with students. Visiting and taking the tour are good things to do. (Be sure you fill out the information card when you take the tour.)
