Engineering Admissions

Would you say that Cooper Engineering is more numbers-based, or do they look more at extracurriculars, essays, and such?

I'm pretty set with all my grades and stuff but thats pretty much it. Please chance me!! :)

SAT Math: 800 reading: 800 writing:770
SATII Math 2: 800 Chem: 800 US history: 780
GPA 3.95 unweighted, 4.5 unweighted
rank: 2 of 350
captain of quiz bowl team
vp of mock trial team
varsity tennis
columbia science honors pogram
NJ gov school environment
Johns Hopkins CTY

My impression (from several years ago) was that the engineering admissions process at Cooper was probably a little more numbers-based than at other schools. I think they did consider non-academics, but probably not as heavily as other institutions (although maybe they should).

Your stats are pretty impressive and I would think that if your essays and recommendations are up to par, you have a pretty good chance at being admitted.

When completing Question 6 on Part 2, do I need to list out my scores for every sitting of the SAT? Also, can I include my AP test scores (I took 10 tests). The prompt reads:

List courses you are currently taking or will take during this academic year and your SAT I and II scores. Keep in mind, we require the Math and either Chemistry or Physics SAT II.

Is it bad that I have taken the SAT four times or will that not matter much since I’ve improved from high 2100s to above 2350.

Lastly, for the resume, can I include a paragraph long description for some of my activities, since one of them in particular takes 15-25 hours a week and I can’t really discuss it anywhere else on my application.
