there aren't many girls engineering at brown keke

I know this thread is wayyy outdated but I’d rather just keep it going than start a new one: I’m (a girl…) applying to Bucknell lehigh villanova upitt engineering and I want to just throw out an application at maybe cornell/brown/UVA…any advice on that? I’m thinking civil engineering; but what one of you said worries me- i only realized i want to do engineering after taking physics my junior year, and now I’m taking AP Physics senior year, but other than that, I have nothing to “prove” that I am actually interested in engineering. If I don’t do engineering undergraduate, I’m going to major in Physics- but I also want to be able to take classes in the humanities…any advice/help? it would be very very appreciated!!

bbbbbbbbbbbbbbump please!

^wow old thread: I didn’t have anything to “prove” I wanted to do physics when I applied (literally, no physics-ey/engineering-ey activities outside of taking math and science classes), other than a mindset. All you need to do is show why you would in fact make a good engineer: show them how you think about the world in your supplemental essays, and explain (not necessarily directly, but how you frame yourself) your reasons for wanting to do engineering. Don’t worry about your extracurriculars, just show the admissions officers who you are.
