engineering at yale

actually i heard from some of my friends that yale sucks at engineering
but my teahers keep telling me that yale has recently launched an initiative to boost science and engineering
iam an international student and is it advisable to do engineering at yale

Yale has been putting a lot of work into improving its Engineering Department. It's definitely something to look into (maybe request a brochure).

--A Yale student

Yale's engineering program is ... not very good. Many other school are ranked higher than Yale in terms of engineering. You should probably reconsider.

Actually, your teachers are right. Yale has launched a 500million dollar initiative into science and engineering over the next 4-5 years--1billion within the decade. Yale Engineering isn't bad, contrary to popular belief; the program is so small that it is hard to rank it fairly against schools with much bigger programs, ie MIT, Stanford, etc.
But just because it is small does not mean that you can't get a great education from it. We are one of the few schools to offer three levels of engineering intensitity, based off of your other academic interests, the BA, BS and ABET accredited BS.

Plus, not many schools can offer you a student-teacher ratio of 1:2 in select engineering disciplines.
