Hey everyone, for my future career I am interested in doing something creative or more hands on, and while I love art I know it's not a practical career option for me. Since I've been accepted into LSA and A&D I wanted to know if I could major in business without being in the business school or in engineering without being in that school while minoring in art. I was also considering majoring in engineering with a minor in business... is any of this possible?

Normally, if your intent was engineering, you’d apply to the COE. If you intended to take business (as in top-ranked Ross) then you’d either apply pre-admit now, OR apply after your freshman year.
Via course selection and taking the prereqs for each (and doing well) it is possible to request a cross-campus transfer. Technically speaking, LSA students do not declare an actual major usually until sophomore year.

However, if you’re certain of your intent for COE, for example, I think you should consider contacting the college, explaining your situation and asking for advice.

So it’s not possible to major in either business or engineering while enrolled in LSA?

No it’s not possible. Also there is no business minor, although you can take up to 20 credits of b school classes if you wanted to

^To clarify – you’d be starting out in LSA, but taking the general requirement courses for COE. Then you’d be applying to transfer from LSA to the COE (or applying to be admitted to Ross, as the case may be.)
