Could any engineering majors give me an approximation of the number of students they had in their classes? I’m really worried about the sizes of the classes and I have to make a decision in two days (!).
I’m not an engineering student, but my son graduated last May and he was. He was in the honors as well as engineering, so many of his basic classes (calc, physics, etc.) were taken in honors. Those classes were big. For him for these classes, he was in the lecture hall with the professor and 100-200+ students on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and then met with about 25 students with a TA on Tuesday and Thursdays. Not sure how many might be in the non honors classes. His engineering classes were big too. Even in his Senior Engineering Design class there were at least 100 students. For him this wasn’t a problem as he liked the bigger sized classes. Some of his other classes (like his Greek mythology class, history class etc.) were smaller, but if you go to UMN I would expect big classes. Hope this helps.
