I’m filling out my grades and I’m having trouble categorizing the following into the subject area choices:
Technology and Robotics
FIRST Robotics Electrical/Controls
FIRST Robotics Beta Testing
FIRST Robotics Pneumatics
Basically, what category on the UC app would engineering courses fall into? Please help me sort these out. Thank you!
If you are instate you can check your school’s a-g list through UC doorways to see how the UCs classify the classes at your school specifically. The engineering classes at our school are not a-g and get listed with the non a-g section. If classes are not a-g those grades will not be included in UC GPA.
From the UC website.
Should freshman applicants enter all courses taken or only those that are on their school’s UC-certified course list?
Students must enter courses that appear on their school’s UC-certified course list. Students who have attended more than one high school must list courses taken from each school. Transferable college/university courses and/or college/university courses that meet an “a-g” requirement must also be listed. Students can list non-“a-g” courses in the appropriate section of the Activities and Awards portion of the application.
I’m not instate. Do you think I just shouldn’t include them? @svlab112
I would include them because you dedicated time and it shows interest. The classes are on your transcript. I remember my daughter included some photography classes that were not a-g and she had won a few awards So, she fit them into another section or listed them in the extra info section. She’s at UCB about to start her last year.
I would go to the UC website and read all the FAQs. I found it very helpful. I don’t know if out-of-state has the exact same app. When my kids enter their classes in the app, the classes are in a pull down menu.
There is information here you might find helpful.
