Does anyone one know who reads the engineering essay? Do you think they get the input of someone from the engineering department?
Just curious.

I think the point of the engineering essay is to make sure that you are in fact interested in Princeton's engineering school and not just saying you want to do engineering bc you think it will give you a better chance of being accepted. I seriously doubt anyone at the engineering school (or any department you could mark as your intended major) will have a look at your application unless there is a very good reason. The admissions office doesn't hand undergraduate applications around to faculty; professors aren't interested in reading them except perhaps in the case of an extraordinary applicant.
