Tell me about your experiences and about which subjects I'm better off waiving credit for and which ones I should definitely accept credit.
What if you're in the honors program?

Take as many credits as you can, in my opinion. If you are iffy on the subject material and are moving into a more advanced class (Say, you placed out of Calc 1 and are placed into Calc 2) then you can always try out the Calc 2 course and move back to Calc 1 if you don’t feel that you have it down.

I know that a lot of people feel like they shouldn’t be taking their AP credits for whatever reason, but the credits help to lighten your workload so that you can focus on getting good grades in your other classes. Retaking the classes is a chore, and if you’re really bored, you’re likely to underachieve, which could result in an unexpected B.

Won’t your university advise you? I know my son was told that his AP Calc BC credit should count, but his AP Physics shouldn’t even though he got a 5. So he took Physics as a freshman again and worked hard for his B 1st semester and A 2nd semester. Your counselor should be a big help so ask.

Take all your credit! The more classes you get out of the way, the closer you get to the “cool” stuff. You can always review as you go and all the classes I’ve taken have some review built into the lectures and course. They expect you to forget a little of it. More so in the honors program because they make you take extra fluff which eats up credit hours (at least in sas honors, not sure about eng)
