Hi, I’m currently in the process of picking colleges and I was admitted into CIT. I’m a bit concerned because I’ve heard of grade deflation at Carnegie Mellon, and it seems to be especially hard for engineering and cs students to get good GPAs. I’m considering possible med or law school after graduation since I’m not too sure what I want to do right now.
People talk about how difficult it is to get a good GPA at CMU, but I found online that over 400/1700 undergrads in CIT get on the Dean’s list (over 3.75 GPA). Is that true? (because it seems a bit high) What is the average GPA of engineering students? What is the grading typically like? (curves, no curves, ease)
Thanks!
