Engineering Humanities Series Requirement

<p>I've taken an Ethnic Studies upper division class for one humanities requirement. Will taking an upper division Asian American Studies class fulfill the series requirement?</p>

*NOTE for the Series requirement: The purpose of the series requirement is to provide depth of knowledge in a certain area. Therefore, a two‐course sequence not in the same department may be approved by petition in cases in which there is a clear and logical connection between
the courses involved. Also, a course and its prerequisite will satisfy this requirement, even if they are not in the same department, i.e. Ethnic Studies 21AC may be followed by any upper‐division courses in African American Studies, Asian‐American Studies, Chicano Studies, or Native American Studies included in the Comprehensive List. AP, IB or A‐Levels can be used with an upper division course to satisfy the series.

<p>Thanks. Did either of you guys ever do something like that? I’ve read that part of the handbook but I don’t know anybody that has actually tried anything like it; they usually just the classes from the same department.</p>

<p>I did petition before but it was rejected </p>

<p>It was not Ethnic or Asian American studies though.</p>
