Engineering "Interviews not offered"

So on Cornell’s 2016 freshman admission requirements website, they explicitly state “Interviews are not offered” for engineering majors. However, I applied as an engineering major and I just had my interview a few days ago??? I didn’t ask for an interview, I live in the states, but I was contacted. Did any of you engineering majors also have an interview?

So odd!

It was probably a CAAN interview. (Cornell Alumni Ambassador Network). These are informational only and alumni volunteers in your area contact prospective students for a brief informational type session where you can ask questions etc. These types of “interviews” don’t have bearing on your admission. Maybe this is what you had. Probably so. Only SHA and AAP require interviews as part of their admissions process.

@TiggyB62 Oh I see, thank you! I just figured that they were referring to all types of interviews, but that makes sense.
