Interview for people who applied to School of Engineering?

Did any of you guys who applied to the school of engineering got an interview yet? I asked this question because that many people that I know in my HS who is applying to Cornell had or already have schedule their interviews except me, and I am the only one who is applying for the School of engineering. Most of them is either applied to the CALS, Art and Science or Hotel.

Also, in one of the FAQ, it mentioned that "in all other program, interview is neither required nor offered...", except for hotel, art and architecture, which require an interview. But CALS is not in that catagory, but how come many of friends who applied there got an interview?

Just need a few of your words or opinions...thanks!

Everyone who applies has the option of an alumni interview (if there's a committee/alum in ur area)...except for maybe people who have on-campus ones, like hotel applicants.

Anyway, moral of the story, don't worry about it. The alumni "interview" isn't really an interview at all because it has like zero impact on your decision (in most cases)...thus, I'd imagine the people in your area are either overloaded and haven't been able to contact every student, or it was just an oversight. If you're really intent on having one you could probably contact your local committee, but like I said, it doesn't really matter at all so I wouldn't stress--at mine, we really talked more about HIS Cornell experience than I talked about myself (as one would in an interview.)

hey Nicky, what school are you applying to? just wondering....

I applied to Arts and Sciences, but I know people who have applied to all the colleges (including engineering) who have had "interviews".

All the kids in my school applying to Engineering have already had their interviews like two months ago.

i applied mechancial engineering. had interview with alumnus who graduated as a chem e. he asked me an engineering problem:

how do planes fly? based on this principle of lift, how do acrobats fly upside down?

another question he asked my friends is:

gives them a pen which lights up in different colors and asks them how it works

good luck

polter, my cambridge interview sounds exactly like that...i was given an electromagnetic flashlight and asked to explain how it works.

To the OP, I always thought the ENg school does not offer interviews? I ahvent got one, or any names or numbers.

they do the alumni "interviews" which are more like a Q&A session between you and the interviewer (atleast mine was). My interviewer wasn't even an engineer, and we kept the conversation to what my interviewer does, why she went to cornell, questions I had about Cornell, etc. My only direct question was "what is your favorite class?"
