Engineering Majors - Admissions Statistics

For those interested:

Go here:
<a href="http://data.engr.washington.edu/pls/portal30/STUDENT_APPL.RPT_APPLICANT_STATISTICS_YEAR.SHOW_PARMS%5B/url%5D">http://data.engr.washington.edu/pls/portal30/STUDENT_APPL.RPT_APPLICANT_STATISTICS_YEAR.SHOW_PARMS</a></p>

Select the query parameters (drop down) for admissions statistics.

Note that this returns GPA information as well. Admissions also look heavily on course work (3.8 in lots of prereq classes v 3.8 in less prereq classes? less physics?) as well as personal statement.

speedsolver: You’re Great!
Thank you very much for the information. It is indeed a good source of info. for the students you are palnning to enroll at Engineering dept. It is ineresting to know that, at certain department, average cummulative GPA is higher than the pre-requisite GPA!

Interesting that upper division admission rates are 3x higher for autumn than spring in CSE.

Wow those seem pretty tough. Do you know what is the average or median GPA, or statistics like what kind of GPA would be considered top 25% at the UW?

Thank you so much for that link. I have a chance thread in another forum…Would any of you care to look and chance?

Oh man…this makes me nervous… with a 2.7 trying to transfer into EE… Hope my personal statement/course rigor is enough… if not, there’s always the physics major I applied for.

Welppp. 3.96 pre-req GPA for the only woman who got accepted. Heh
