I would love to hear pros/cons of attending UC for (mechanical) engineering. We haven’t been out to visit yet-applied based on UC’s co-op program. Also, opinion on the campus environment? I’ve heard urban campuses can be nice because there’s so many things to do in the city other than party (he doesn’t drink). We’ll be scheduling a visit but I’d really appreciate real input. TIA!
I can only speak to the city part - my daughter is not in engineering.
There is a lot to do in Cincinnati, should he have the time. None of the activities are within walking distance of campus, however, and once you get off campus things get sketchy fast. A quick Uber or even bus ride and you are there.
My daughter doesn’t drink, either, but usually spends her weekends studying (demanding major) or hanging out with friends playing board games. I’ve tried to get her to look into free movies on campus and other activities. She does really like working out at the campus rec center, so I would encourage you to check that out.
And, of course, there are lots of games to attend, even beyond the traditional basketball and football.
Hi! I am in the engineering college. I definitely think UC is a great choice because of the co-op program. It is so beneficial to graduate with literally 2+ years of real work experience in the field. It is one of the biggest reasons I chose UC. Also, the campus is very nice and not too big either.
Thanks! My son accepted UC’s offer for ME! Any more suggestions about the best LLC engineering dorm, class recommendations, things to before starting at UC for engineering?
my daughter is graduating from DAAP…no matter what degree there are many things to do in the city and around campus…they just have to put themselves out there and get involved. i made my daughter get out of her shy bubble and join a sorority to meet people. she goes to the rec center to work out. we just found out my niece will be in the engineering program at UC in the fall.
