Hello, I was just wondering what the workload/average day is like for a first year engineering student? Howe difficult/easy is it, amount of reading/HW, how much free time you have etc.
Honors or not Honors? Big difference
Not honors. Just a normal first-year student. I would consider myself a hard worker, but tend to get a bit lazy when it comes to homework. I just want to hear first-hand from a student who has experienced this.
@unsurecollegeguy Don’t know much about non-honors, but I can say that all science classes, all calc classes, and the engineering classes will be a damn good amount of work. Chem’s and Calc’s are killers usually hahah and that’s not just homework, that’s difficulty of class and exams. Averages are pretty low.
My son’s a first year engineering student at OSU and this has been his experience also. With tutors he’s able to stay above average. GPAs are very important the first year as you must compete to get into your major. all of his classes (calc, physics, chem, programming, etc.) are only engineers. That doesnt help the curve.
good luck!!
