Honors Vs Scholars

Hi guys! I was admitted to the scholars program as a first-year undergrad. I chose scholars as my first choice because I heard from a lot of people that honors engineering was extremely tough and that you couldn’t be in scholars and honors if you were admitted to the honors program first. Don’t get me wrong, I like being challenged. I just was afraid that the honors classes would kill my gpa. After talking to more people, I’m starting to think that taking those honors engineering courses would be worthwhile and I’m regretting not applying for honors. It’s not too late right now, and my stats could be good enough to get me in. Do you guys think that I should try to have them re-evaluate my application to get into the honors program or just wait until later? Is honors really that much better than scholars? I’d appreciate any responses. Thanks guys!

Stay in Scholars!! Give it a try for at least a semester, and then if you still do not like it, transfer to honors!

You can apply for honors after completing at least 2 semesters at OSU with at least a 3.5 GPA. Since engineering honors is a first year sequence, you will have missed out on the FEH classes; however you could still graduate with honors.
