I am going to be an engineering major next year and I was wonder if i could take an extra class than the one that is "set" cause I am taking calc 1 again, and i already took a very difficult class in it in highschool

and I think it wouldnt be bad to take another class.

is this possible or not reccommended or........?

What do you mean, like overload? You can technically but I doubt your advisor will let you overload your first semester (or even first year), and you need their approval.

However if you mean take calc 2 for example instead of calc 1, you can only do that if you have transfer or AP/IB credit for calc 1. You can’t place out of it by taking an exam or anything.

i meant overload, cause i know other schools allow you to take 1 class overload, but idk if that is possible at nu.

Like I said, you can. It’s about 5000 dollars more (no financial aid covers it), and you have to be approved for it by your advisor. Usually advisors are fine with it if you have a good gpa, but I highly doubt they’ll let a first semester freshman (or even a second semester one) do it, even if you were very good in high school. For a lot of college students, their first semester is their hardest just because of how much everything changes, and advisors know that.
