or is an ACT with writing sufficient?

I do believe that SAT subject tests (at least 1 in math, 1 in science) are mandatory for engineering. (besides SAT/ACT)

thanks. I wonder what wd happen if the a student applied as 1st choice engineering, but took a math and an english subject SAT and not a science, but also applied with the optional essay into CAS where the latter SAT is what is req’d? does that mean that CU wd review for CAS and not for engineering?

sounds like a call to admissions.

Does CU provide the mid 50 pctiles the SAT subject tests as they report the mid 50 of the general SAT and ACT tests? if so, where is this reported?

I don’t think the essay for CAS is optional.
You can’t apply to engineering and only fulfill requirements of CAS. Your second choice will only get looked at (and even so, rarely) if you do not get accepted from your first choice. They look at your profile once again, separate from the first viewing

This site gives the middle 50%tile range for CAS and engineering from last year (from 25-75th). It doesn’t show it at 50 exactly.

OK, thanks for that info and reference. Looks like Cornell will lose out on the next Zuckerberg to UIUC over a missing SAT subject test. I’m sure Cornell will manage.
