Engineering school which is not very selective

Hi, i'm an international student. I want to find a good school for engineering which will MOST probably admit me. Note: Undergrad

SAT:
CR: 620
Math: 720
Writing: 590

Math 2: 760
Physics: 680
Chem: 680

A-level (Edexcel): 4As (AS level) [GPA ~ 3.5 -4.0]

Model United Nations President
Public Speaking
Debating

Northern illinois engineering department isn't selective

GATech is a top engineering school... and it is definitely not extremely selective.
~60% acceptance rate IIRC.

I agree GATech is highly respected at the grad level, but the undergrad acceptance rate is basically ~60%.

RIT- Rochester Institute of Technology

SJSU, great location in the silicon valley

How about Worcester Polytechnic Inst? Is it very selective. I'm not an inventor yet, but i really like math an physics.</li>

I'm planing to do Mechanical Engineering. I want to delve into energy engineering or management.

You've got 4 As in your AS.. when is not bad.. I think you can aim higher.. I mean why not? UMich-Ann Arbor actually admit lots of intels.. and with 4As.. I think you'll have a great chance.. You should be a shoo-in at Purdue.. You have many options assuming that you don't need aid..

Remember: You attend college only ONCE in your life..

I am in the same position s90 is in.
International student. Studied in US for 4 years. Applying to engineering schools. Not much clue of what colleges I could get in.

SAT I (1210)
verbal - 490
math - 720
*writing -510

SAT II Math Lv2 - 800

GPA: 4.04(weighted on 5.0 scale)
~3.78(unweighted)

Extracurricular activity:
Policy Debate 3 years, State Champion
Rifle Club
Volunteer at library and elementary chess club - both 2 years
Computer Club/ Technology Student Association
NHS
Regional Science Fair 2nd place
And some insignificant school awards
I think my verbal would go up to 550 and writing to ~600. What good engineering schools could I possibly get in. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute was the match in Princeton Review....

RPI, Penn State University Park, Bucknell University, Lehigh University, Cal Poly SLO, Santa Clara University, Arizona State University, George Washington University, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Irvine, UC Santa Cruz, UW, University of the Pacific

It's well respected in undergrad as well. It's easyish to get in to, just not to get out of...

UIUC, GATech, and Purdue.

somewhat less-selective, but very highly respected in engineering circles

what xjis said.. but if your scores are below the average requirement for those schools and you already spend a substantial time studying, you're in for one hell of a ride.

I second what xjis said...
UIUC is great for a lot of engineering departments. I got in for Computer Engineering easily, which was a surprise because I didn't think I would make it. However, I'm going to UCLA because of the overall atmosphere.

i cannot believeyou chose UCLA of UIUC for computer engineering
