Engineering Students: Need Your Advice

I recently transferred into engineering from Smeal (I know, it's usually the other way around), so I am kind of rushed to get my core classes and other preliminary courses finished. I will already be a second semester sophomore this spring, so I MUST complete MATH 141 and PHYS 211 by the end of next semester. The catch is, I am also thinking of getting E MCH 211 out of the way this coming semester, as it is a prerequisite to many classes I will be taking in the future. Is this a bad move or can a reasonable amount of studying and discipline take on these 3 classes? Thanks for the help

PHYS 211 and E MCH 211 cover alot of the same material, so it would be like taking 7 hours of mechanics. However from what S has told me, the way the physics course is taught, it is much harder to get through than the engineering mechanics course. It is funny, I felt the same way eons ago when I took these two courses (not simultaneously) at another Big 10 university. If you decide to take both of these courses and Math 141, choose your instructors carefully and ease up on the rest of your semester's courseload.

I suppose it really depends on (1) the other classes you taking and (2) How comfortable you are with the subjects? Are you comfy with Math 141 material or mechanics.

E MCH 211 should be a breeze while Physics (211/212/214) is a *****.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. It looks like E MCH 211 is offered up at UP this summer, so I think I am actually going to do that. This way I can spread things out a bit. Not really looking forward to physics though - with or without E MCH
