Hey Guys,
Does anyone know if the BU undergraduate engineering school is any good? What sort of rank does it have? Is it a degree that companies would recognize as a strong engineering degree? I can’t find much about it. Thanks.

I would say that BU is pretty strong in engineering, especially biomedical since it’s a pretty big department at the school (going to be a freshman in BME this fall). I believe BU’s BME is at least in the top 10 or 15 for national rankings, but I’m not sure for other concentrations. I’m sure it’s pretty strong in those areas as well. And yes, BU is ranked high up on lists of schools that employers want. It’s in the top 10 for US schools and I think top 20ish for international. That list is here: http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2012/10/25/world/asia/25iht-sreducemerging25-graphic.html

Rule for thumb: Boston U for engineering and business. Northeastern for everything else.

^i wouldn’t say that-I know that Northeastern has a great engineering program as well. Also, BU has entirely different programs, like hospitality, communications, etc that are run very differently than at NU.
