ny people accepted into the college of engineering that can post their stats that they were accepted with

repoman, Not very current but I can tell you my S (just finished soph. year at NCSU) was accepted into COE. His stats were....4.6w gpa, #6 of 450 in his class, SAT 1400 (M660,CR740).

here are my stats what do think my chances are at college of engineering

I am an in-state junoir, neither parent went to college, low-income public school

GPA: UW: 3.88/W:4.35
SAT: M-660,CR-630,W-510
Rank: 11/539
Junoir Year: AP Calc AB-C, AP US Hist-A, AP Chem-B, AP Eng Lang-A
Plan for Senoir: AP Physics, AP Eng Lit, AP Psych, AP Stats

3 years varsity football-state champs 3 years
junoir marshall

I think your chances are very good. Apply early (S appled in Sept.) so you'll get your decision back quickly.

what type of engineering is the best to get into based on job avability and oppurtunity to move up in field

Hi repoman
My husband (NCSU Mech. Eng. grad.) works in the electric power industry.
He says there will be a great need for electrical and nuclear engineers in the immediate future but also warns that those two (along with Aerospace Eng.) are probably the hardest curriculums in the college of engineering.
Mechanical eng. is prob. the most versatile. Civil Eng. and Bioengineering have less difficult curriculum but maybe lower paying jobs. Don't know much about Materials Engineering. This is all just his opinion and not carved in stone.

There are good jobs for almost all kinds of engineering majors. You should really pick the one you are most interested in.

repoman31290, your chances are very good.

I have a 3.5 weighted and 1790 SAT (590 math) gonna retake, and I went to the summer engineering camp at state. Also taking ap physics and calc next year, would that help make up for my low gpa?

It definitely would help you. Going to the Summer Engineering program shows NCSU that you are interested in both Engineering and their school. If you are going to be a senior, NCSU will probably not even see your senior grades just the classes you are taking so it will help you marginally.
