Engineering

I was accepted into the engineering school. After freshman year, do I have to apply for the major, or can I major in any branch of engineering I want?

I was told by an in-stater who claimed to know everything that acceptance into aerospace engineering was really competitive and based on your college gpa/sat scores....she said you apply after freshman year. Apparently, everyone wants aerospace and there are not enough slots open.

Is this true?

bump......

I don't know anything about how many slots they have for Aerospace, but you do have to apply for your major. Well, you really have to "declare" a major, but you have to have a high enough GPA to do it. Somewhere on the Umich website, they list what GPA is required for each major.
