<p>I haven't noticed anything about freshman placement tests on the website, does Tulane have freshman take these? If so, when are those taken? If not, do all students start with English 101, or? </p>

<p>Here is the text from the catalog under Degree Requirements</p>

<p>Then it goes on to describe the science requirements, etc.</p>
<p>So it looks like the only placement tests they use are the AP tests, otherwise the student has to take one of the basic English courses and whatever math course they feel competent to take and either have the prerequisites for or can get a professors permission, if they really want to skip the basic level.</p>
