what are the english and writing departments like?

i have a cousin who is there. she was really interested in writing and english but after she took classes she lost interest completely. she said the professors were very weak in that feild

A writing course is manditory for every student's degree here. I enjoyed my course about literature into film, but would say was more of a mechanics course. But I know we offer those types of classes because my roomie's boyfriend took a "short narrative" course here.

My other roommate and I are science majors and avoid classes that involve papers. But we haven't heard anything bad about the English department- in fact, we heard it was quite good, we just like our physics and math.

I don't like my Writing Class at Wellesley. Then again, it's taught by a physic's prof.

However, I've heard many outstanding things about the English Department at Wellesley.

I know you have. Tee hee.

I don't blame you.

If you are looking for excellent creative writing, check out Oberlin.
