Sup peeps!

im and English guy and im currently studying American studies (History/current affairs) and film at Sussex Uni in England!

In my third year (Just finished my first) im goin to a U.S University for a year and just have some questions really!

1)what the hell sorta Uni should i go to!!!! i dont know anything about U.S Uni's! i like football (Soccer) and abit of tennis but im not really great at em (Prefer watching) so i dont think i'd fit in at a proper sport orientated Uni?

2)Can i get a fake ID easily? - in england the legal age in 18 so i have been going out regulary and getting wasted on a regular basis! when im in the U.S i'll be 20 so i dont know if i will be able to make it!!!!!!!!!

3)will i be accepted by you wonderful people??

any help will be appreciated

peace

Yay English people! Do you ever say "bloody?"

.......contrary to what hollywood tells you, us english dont all speak like the queen! and those that do often get laughed at lol

when i was little i used to think that bloody actually meant like...gorey bloody lol.

i have no idea what it actually means! i think its instead of f*** but i dont know anyone who uses it! just farmers and posh pople i spose hahaha

bump bump buuuuuuump

you wont have trouble getting alcohol. believe me.

how you know that mate??? you from england too?

no just no one follows the drinking age here.

i thought the drinking age was real strict e.g 21 and over and all clubs seem adhere to the rule

yes but parties, etc. always have alcohol.

yeah of course

i hear at uni there are far more house parties compared to going out clubbing which is awesome as i will only be 20 when im there

You will not have trouble getting wasted in the US. But if you want to go clubbing, a fake ID is not very hard to obtain. Many friends of mine alter their foreign IDs and make a photocopy. It usually works as there aren't many people here know about foreign IDs. Don't worry it will be easy to do all the alcohol related things you like.

So, then, American studies and film... I imagine that many US universities have at least decent American studies programs, but film might be trickier. Do you prefer East Coast over West Coast or North over South? And are you planning on going to a top tier school or not?

Heh, and I'm sure you'll be accepted, you sound pretty cool.

cheers mate!

im not sure if i need to do film as such, maybe just an overall media degree perhaps but i will find out more when i get back to uni!

after listening to my mates, family, people on here, and hip hop songs :P, i deffinately want to stick to the coasts as these places seem far more my kinda scene (although i hear there are quite alot of fake people in Cali????) but thats just what i hear, im willing to find out for myself!

any help would be awesome as i really wanna get back to uni knowing where i wanna be!

my grades are good so far but not great (i averaged a 2:1 - in england it goes 1, 2:1, 2:2, 3, fail) so assuming i do the same next year i should be doing quite well for myself....hopefully anyway!!!

Oh, it's you again. lol. I typed something up on your other thread you had going Top of the Kop.
