Is anyone doing this right now?

I looked through the catalogue of courses offered, and there seems to be a lack of creative writing courses. While I love the analytical part of english, I wouldn't want to have an entire absence of creative writing either...can anyone discuss this? Are there actually courses there that I may have overlooked? Is there a way to do some writing courses at another university through Mcgill?

Also, I'd like to do some sort of biology minor. How exactly do majors/minors work at Mcgill?
Is it hard (logistically) to do a minor in a different faculty?

Any input would be appreciated!! Thanks!

hi! i am an english literature and economics major at mcgill.
i’m rather sorry to say that to my knowledge there are only 1 or 2 creative writing courses at mcgill. On top of this you have to apply to them with a portfolio of your work so you cannot take them your first semester.

You should check out Concordia’s creative writing course offerings because thats an easy way to take classes McGill doesn’t offer and its only a few metro stops away.

As for minoring in another faculty, here is the link to the biology minor for arts students page: [Department of Biology - Undergraduate Studies: Minor Programs - Science for Arts Students](http://biology.mcgill.ca/undergrad/minorprog_sciarts.html)

Additionally- if you’re trying to make your schedule i would recommend using this website [Smart Minerva](http://registersmart.org/) It has saved me from ripping my hair out countless times due to how incredibly frustrating Minerva is.
