<p>is it true that you can't take english r1b as a freshman during your fall semester?? i tried to sign up for it on telebears and it says that i havent fufilled the entry level writing requirement even though i did because i got a 4 on my ap english and language test last year. i then called the admissions office and she told me that i'm not allowed to take that course as a freshman. i'm a little confused because i'm pretty sure my friend did take it as a freshman. does anyone know??? thanks!</p>
<p>Hmmm…is it just English r1b? I signed up for Com. Lit r1b without a problem. Check the English dept. website to see if there’s more restrictions.</p>
<p>I have the same problem. I think you just can’t phase 1 for r1b because Berkeley hasn’t gotten our test scores. I’m sure we’ll be able to sign up later this summer once everything has processed, but by then classes will pretty much be filled 
I’m just going to wait until the spring to take it.</p>
<p>I’m pretty sure you can take r1b classes in the fall, it’s just harder because there’s more b classes in the fall.Also you have to have a 5 on your AP Lit test to test out of r1b.</p>
