<p>Anybody know what we need to do?</p>
<p>Im currently in the process of being added to the class and therefore cant see what we need to do for the assignment, can anybody give me a rundown/and or send me the article we are supposed to read?? thanks.</p>
<p>Dude, don't worry about it. Just go up to Professor Brown and tell him you were just recently added and ask for an extension. He's pretty reasonable about it, so you'll be OK.</p>
<p>Writing Assignment 1: - Biographical Analysis: Read the George Orwell article on Politics and the English Language posted in the Materials section of the Courseweb site.</p>
<p>Provide a minimum 5-page, double-spaced personal biography containing the following numbered and titled sections and including the required content and the minimum number of references as noted.</p>
<p>1)Identification. Provide your name, major, and class. Include a photograph if possible.
2)Background. Describe your background in terms of family, country of origin, experiences on the way to UCLA, etc.
3)Rationale for Studying Ethics as Part of Engineering. Explain why ethics should be part of an engineering curriculum in terms of
a. Professional Considerations
b. Societal Considerations
Include in your explanations at least two (2) references (other than the textbook) dealing with ethics in engineering.
4)Personal goals or purpose. Describe what you personally hope to obtain from your participation in this course.
5)Personal Ethical Dilemma. Describe an ethical problem that you personally have encountered and propose a solution to the problem. Support your solution with material from at least one (1) referenced, recognized ethical source other than the textbook. </p>
<p>Please post a Word.doc copy of your completed assignment on the Courseweb site by 11:59 PM on Monday,October 6th. In addition, bring two hard copies to class on Monday, October 6th. When preparing your copies, please make sure that your name AND your discussion section are on the paper.</p>
