ENGRI 1110 vs. ENGRI 1200

I am considering both ENGRI 1110: Nanotechnology (Professor Umbach) and ENGRI 1200: Introduction to Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (Professor Craighead). If anyone who has taken either could comment on them it would be great. I am interested to know how interesting and difficult the courses are.

I recommend ENGRI 1200 w/ Craighead (see ratemyprofessors.com) - I heard several people complaining about Umbach. It doesn’t matter too much though - both have a very similar curriculum and you can always switch between them.

Thanks. I think that’s what I’m leaning towards anyway because it has the lab component. Any other opinions?

I had Umbach. That class was lots of lulz… some of the homework material was confusing since the course material didn’t seem to be relevant, but then again I didn’t really pay attention in lecture (my fault). Umbach does cover a LOT of interesting material and I probably remember the most from his class of freshman year.

I actually have it narrowed down to these 2 classes as well, blee2011. Bump.
