Enough APs?

This is a bit random, but I was just wondering about my class schedule. On CC there are so many people who are like "all right, so I've just finished taking my 11th AP exam... too bad I've exhausted every advanced class my school offers... now I'm bored," etc., and I'm beginning to wonder: Am I taking enough APs? I go to Phillips Academy (Andover) in Massachusetts, and I'm taking/have taken:

Lower Year:
-AP European History

Upper Year:
- AP Biology
- AP BC Calculus
- AP US History

Senior Year:
- AP French
- AP Chemistry

So that's only six APs, is that okay? Or should I be looking to up the ante on my courseload?

that's about how many APs my school offers, so I think you'll be fine.

It depends on where you want to go to college and how many APs your school offers.

Also sometimes it's bad to take SOO many APs cuz then you'll get too much credit for the APs. And chances are you won't take all of that credit. But yea some is good.

uhh dude u go to andover, im sure ur other classes have been hard too
u have as good a chance as any of those ppl

^totally, don't private schools go by their own psycho courses?

colleges assess the rigor of your course load by what school you go to. if your school offers courses that are on the same level as or higher than AP courses, they will know. so if you go to Phillips Andover, and you're taking all these other ridiculous courses that are just as hard as APs, then the college is going to know that. if you're not, well then, your course load does not count as 'most rigorous.'

on the other hand, if you went to some obscure high school in the middle of Wyoming, where the most AP courses they offered WAS 6, and you took all 6, then you would have maxed out your curriculum, and therefore you are taking the 'most rigorous' courseload.

well my school has quite alot but im not taking a few of them such as music theory, but by the time i graduate ill be done with 10-11 estimating?

As long as you have a rigorous courseload and close to as many AP's as the school offers, you're fine.
