Next year (senior year), I'm taking these classes:
AP Microeconomics
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics C Mechanics
AP Psychology
AP Environmental Science
English 12 (regular)

I've already taken AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and AP World History and thought they were easy. People are telling me that my AP's for next year, except calculus and physics C, are "joke" AP's. This is really irritating to me, but the problem is that there aren't many AP's left that I am interested in or can take. English is not my native language, and I don't think I want to take AP stats. Does college really care which AP classes I take? Is my schedule rigorous enough? Should I take AP Stats or US Gov (only others I CAN take) instead of some I already have planned?
Thank you all!

Are you crazy? No college will accept a student who’s taking AP Environmental Science. And you’re only taking 6 AP classes this year? The minimum colleges look for is 8. You better do really well on your SAT if you want to make up for that joke of a schedule. You’ll probably have to go to community college and transfer.

/sarcasm

You have a strong schedule. Really, you’ll be fine. You did well taking AP Bio, AP Chem, and APWH in the same year. Also, your English is better than that of many (if not most) native speakers. Don’t worry so much

AP Physics C is hands down the biggest joke. C’mon. Electromagnetism? Are you kidding me? Might as well start filling out your application to McDonald’s.

@wigglechoo,
Oh my bad I forgot to mention that my school only offers honors English for grade levels 9-11 so seniors can either take regular English 12 or AP Lit. I am not bad at writing (my essay average is 99%), but I don’t know…I don’t feel confident taking Lit, where I’d have to analyze POEMS and write SHORT STORIES! YIKES!! I’m totally not creative. I don’t want a B in any class. My GPA has been perfect so far even with all my AP classes. I don’t need it to get screwed by English.

@TinnyT,
I wouldn’t call AP chemistry or AP bio jokes…I’ve been working very hard on both of these two throughout the year to keep my grade up. My AP chem teacher offers retakes from time to time because her tests are difficult and many get C’s sometimes.

lolifofo, if you’re worried about your GPA with the AP Lit class, don’t be. You’re taking this class your senior year. Therefore, the transcripts you send colleges in the Fall will not include the grades you receive your senior year. Most, if not almost all, schools do not require a grade update after your first semester is over. The scores you get in the AP tests also do not matter, except for getting college credit, but not for admissions.

Recap: Colleges only look at your strength of schedule for senior year. Grades do not matter (as long as you pass, which should be no problem for a student like yourself)

I wish I had a time machine so I could see if taking this course would be a big mistake. AeroMike, I know how this all works for college, but it’s still a matter of self satisfaction. I would feel very disappointed if I got a B, especially knowing that choosing the course would be my fault. I need to talk with my counselor…

I am interested is AP psych, and I am taking APES to finish my AP science tee collection lol! Just kidding, no really I’m a science guy, so I gotta take all the AP sciences. I heard AP Stats is as easy, but meh I don’t want two boring math classes.

Well if that’s the case, your schedule is fine! And from what I’ve heard AP stat is really easy but a ton of fun because they do a lot of simulations and things, but that might just be at my school…

There will likely be at least two conflicting classes in my schedule next year, so I might have to replace one of them with AP stat. I’ll be fine with that though. :D
